As published in The Sydney Morning Herald, Elaine Darby has become the managing director of AusCann, a medical cannabis company. Skeptical at first, Darby was introduced to the medical cannabis field by her father, a doctor.

After looking at research and case studies, Darby believes cannabis seems like a legitimate and promising medication. Although the legal situation of medical cannabis is currently complicated in Australia, Darby believes the industry can provide many jobs such as medical research, production positions, and medical liaison officers.

Dr. Danial Schecter, the chief medical officer for AusCann, believes the education, training, and proper use of cannabis-based medication requires a higher level of effort for patients and doctors. Therefore, as the medical cannabis market grows, more jobs will be created as well.
