Attract More GPs and Doctors with Video

When you’re running a medical practice, one of the most dreaded aspects of your day is when a GP comes to you and says they are leaving. This is because you know just how difficult it to find the right doctor for your clinic. 

Recruitment agency fees can be exorbitant and inflexible, making it difficult to afford to pay the GP’s retainer and the agency fees at the same time. 

You have tried a number of different avenues online, but to no avail. Especially as you don’t have the time to scour resumes and profiles on top of your day-to-day work of managing the practice. It can be a hit and miss. 


Light at the end of the tunnel

There is one tactic that does help practice owners and practice managers attract the ideal applicants to their job posts. And this is the simple video. Video allows you to promote your medical centre, show off your facilities, even include some of the friendly faces who work there! 

You can share your practice video on each of the job posts, making it one of the easiest ways of standing out from your competition. 


What is a video in your job post?

A video in your job post is a short, 2-minute video that you can record directly from your HealthcareLink Premium account. 

It allows you to showcase your practice premises to potential applicants. You can show the rooms they could be working in, the equipment and facilities available and, most importantly, the nurses, allied health and admin staff they may be working alongside. 


Why is a video important? 

Sure, you are advertising a job and you’ve never seen videos on job descriptions before. However, we see videos everywhere else! Even on online news outlets, before the text, the first thing that is displayed is a short video to support story you’re about to read. 

Video allows the viewer to immerse themselves in the story. By creating a simple video of your practice facilities and co-workers, it shows the candidate all about where they will work, speaking in volumes about your workplace culture, promoting the job more than you ever could in 500 words... all in simply two minutes! 

 

How do you get started? 

It’s easy. 

Step 1: When you have a Premium account and you are creating a new job post, simply click on the ‘Video Description’ button. To edit an existing job post, open the post via Job Post Manager and do the same. 

Step 2: Click on the orange ‘Let’s Go’ button and you can start filming. Use your laptop, tablet or smartphone to film your video. You can have three attempts to film and then the last version is taken as final. 

Step 3: Click on the orange ‘Finish’ button 

Step 4: Make sure the Video Description button now says “Completed”

Step 5: Voila! Your video description is now live on the HealthcareLink site. Please check the job post on HealthcareLink.com.au.
