There are matters about eHealth space such as digital health records, informatics, privacy and security that should be discussed.
A recently held forum about eHealth held last 29th of August involved the participation of key individuals acted as speakers. Among the participants are Australian Digital Health Agency (ADHA) CEO Tim Kelsey and its information security officer Tony Kitzelmann, CSIRO product and program leader Kate Ebrill and Health Informatics Society of Australia’s incumbent chief health informatician David Rowlands.
Moreover, the participation of Dr. Rob Hosking and Associate Professor Mark Morgan was also involved in the said forum. This marked a good representation of the digital health advocates in RACGP. Dr. Hosking is the incumbent chair of the RACGP Expert Committee on Practice Technology and Management and Profession Morgan is the chair of the Expert Committee on Quality Care.
The forum will dwell upon the discussion on updates from the ADHA, which operates for My Health Record. In addition, the forum wanted to deal with improving the secure messaging in healthcare as well as improving the data quality in primary care taken by CSIRO. The focus of this year’s forum contrasted to last year’s focus on big health data.
The symposium invoked certain aspects of empowering practice teams as data managers within the field of health informatics, data collection, and analysis. As a part of the forum, the RACGP experts will deal with matters such as My Health Record, patient record ownership and software data quality.
According to Dr. Hosking, the forum involved different people within the field of digital health, which is very exciting. Involving people from CSIRO, college experts, academic GPs and experts on cybersecurity would garner positive results.
