Why You Should Become A Telehealth GP

Why You Should Become A Telehealth GP

Published By Victoria , 4 years ago

With COVID-19 continuing to spread in Australia, there is an ever-growing need for more General Practitioners to see more patients. Although this is the current situation in the country, it's not always easy finding suitable GPs in the right locations at the right time.

That's why at HealthcareLink we believe that Telehealth is the way forward. It doesn't matter where you are in the country, as a Telehealth GP you can help patients in need so that we can heal together as a nation and move forward through this pandemic.

Here are the top reasons why you should become a Telehealth GP:

  1. You can help meet an increasing demand for Telehealth during the winter/colder months due to COVID-19, as well as avoid clinic based work to minimise patient and staff contact, and thus the possible spread of the virus.
  2. You can earn additional income when it suits you.
  3. You have the freedom and flexibility of being able to work from home.
  4. You can explore something fresh and different, and find relief from the usual day-to-day.
  5. If you have young children or other personal/family commitments and can’t work outside of home on a full-time basis Telehealth gives you flexibility to balance your work and personal life.
  6. If you are a Non-VR with location restrictions, Telehealth allows you to practice on your own terms.
  7. If you are still under the moratorium and need either a DPA location or 19ab exemption you can practice on your own terms.
  8. If you are a pregnant doctor who is on maternity leave you can stay up to date with your skills before your due date and then transition back into the workforce effortlessly when ready.

What do you think? Have some of these reasons convinced you to give Telehealth a try?

We are currently working with some of the top telehealth companies within the country to find the best talent to get in front of patients right now. In order to best serve the needs of these providers and thus the country, we recommend that all our members interested in a Telehealth role update their HealthcareLink profiles and indicate that they are available for such roles, so that our team and platform can connect the right members to these providers as quickly as possible.

The virus is not slowing down, but we aren’t either. As long as we stand united in the fight against it, we will come out of this pandemic stronger than before.
