Endometriosis is a chronic disease that affects a significant proportion of women and results in pelvic pain, decreased quality of life and infertility. Its aetiology is yet unclear but involves a complex interaction between molecular, hormonal, immune, genetic and epigenetic factors. Individualise management with clear goals of treatment, which can include symptomatic relief and treatment of infertility.
