This is an educational workshop. The aim is to educate and empower RFDS staff. This will increase their capability, patient outcomes and improve team cohesiveness.
Relevance to General Practice
The focus is on education of specific value to RFDS staff that is not found in more generic PHC education.
The RFDS PHC Workshop content was specifically developed in response to a multi-faceted Needs Analysis of RFDS General Practice. The Needs Analysis is attached.
Demonstrate and further develop knowledge of significant medical conditions and approaches to undifferentiated problems.
Effectively apply clinical reasoning and knowledge to presented clinical cases, including implementation of hospital and community-based expertise and resources
Confidently apply essential skills in Crisis resource management principles in acute clinical care settings.
Create and implement appropriate management plans for patients with chronic disease in the remote and/or indigenous context
Apply clinical management and non-technical skills in a simulated patient environment for both paediatric and adult patients.
