s GP’s are generally the first stakeholder within the healthcare system to deal with Orthopaedic injuries in patients, it is extremely important for them to remain up to date with all current surgical and rehabilitative techniques. According to the RACGP curriculum MS16, musculoskeletal assessment and sporting injuries is a significant part of the workload of general practice and are responsible for a major burden on the Australian Health System. In addition, Musculoskeletal conditions affect around 28% of the population and accounted for 14.4% of general practice encounters in 2013-2014. It is imperative that GP’s develop the skills to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal conditions.
