International travel continues to rise and with it, the increased exposure of Australians to foreign, remote and "exotic" locations where serious conditions we rarely see in Australia, might be prevalent.
More and more GPs are faced with patients needing travel advice, including travel vaccines and other prophylactic measure.
The field of travel medicine changes quickly and not a lot of formal training opportunities are available for GPs and the practice team to get a good grasp of the fundamental principles of assessment and best practice in this are.
