This session describes the diagnosis, treatment and pathophysiology of delirium in critical care patients.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this session you will be able to:
- Describe the process of screening for, and of diagnosing, delirium
- Identify the risk factors that are important in development of delirium
- Describe the pharmacological and non-pharmacological management of delirium including prevention strategies
- List the short- and long-term effects of delirium
