This course aims to provide participants with the knowledge and confidence to pre-screen and advise patients in regards to Malaria prevention before traveling to endemic areas. The course covers: Prevalence of malaria, the malaria life cycle, non-drug advice to protect against malaria and detailed information on anti-malaria chemo-prophylaxis available in Australia.

With an increasing number of patients traveling to Malaria-endemic areas, it is important for providers to stay up to date as to the latest best practice advice to adequately prevent this disease. 
The complexities of chemo-prophylaxis alternatives, treatment-resistant strains and the variety of drug side effect and contraindications, make Malaria advice a complex undertaking for any General Practitioner, which is why it is important to update knowledge in this area and stay up to date with the latest evidence.
