115120 - Nasal and Sinus Symptoms for GPs

  • : Online

An educational event recorded for online viewing, to provide an update for GPs in the assessment and management of nasal and sinus symptoms.

Relevance to General Practice

Patients often present to general practice with various ear, nose and throat (ENT) conditions. ENT conditions are often referred to specialist care, and is an area that general practitioners (GPs) could benefit from further education, particularly in rural and remote communities where specialist services are often scarce.

Sinusitis is one of the most common primary care presentations in Australia, with 1.4 in every 100 general practice encounters for acute or chronic sinusitis. Given that the GP is normally the first port of call for a patient, education on current diagnosis and management of these conditions is essential. It is also critical that GPs are aware of red flags for serious conditions that require referral.

This activity aims to update GPs with clinical and practical information to aid them in the assessment and management of patients presenting with nasal and sinus symptoms.
