115121 - Allergic Eye Disease...and other itchy burnies

  • : Online

This activity aims to update GPs with clinical and practical information to aid them in the assessment and management of patients presenting with allergic eye disease

Relevance to General Practice

General practice eye consultations account for about 2.2 out of every 100 consultations. Although the most common acute eye diseases in primary practice are the usually benign conditions of viral, bacterial and allergic conjunctivitis, rarer but more serious causes of red eye such as iritis, keratitis and acute glaucoma can lead to permanent loss of vision. The primary health care provider’s initial diagnosis and management can be critical to the patient’s ophthalmic outcome. This activity aims to update GPs with clinical and practical information to aid them in the assessment and management of patients presenting with allergic eye conditions.
