A 30 minute online activity to highlight the importance of influenza vaccination in children under 5 years.

Relevance to General Practice

GPs can play an important role increasing vaccination rates, as a recommendation to vaccinate it highly associated with uptake. GPs routinely see young children under the age of 5 years of life and may be involved in routine vaccination clinics. As such, they are ideally placed to discuss the benefits of vaccinating young children with parents in terms of preventing infection and severe complications from influenza and restricting the spread of the virus in the community.

  • Recount current influenza vaccine recommendations and available paediatric influenza vaccines
