  • : Online

ECTV training is designed to teach ECT visitors the direct method of assessing patient safety, administration and assessment, and providing feedback to GP registrars.

Relevance to General Practice

RACGP vocational training standards (standard states the need for qualified GP supervisors/ medical educators to conduct and administer training. WAGPET has since 2009 been exploring how to define and identify quality training practices through the Quality Practice Criteria Project (QPC), and then the Education Integration Project (EIP). The results of this recent EIP reinforces the importance of supportive supervision in practice - qualitative and quantitative data of 'Direct Observation of Registrar' by Supervisor including ECTV was included. This proposed ALM activity has been designed to meet the identified needs of Medical Educators and Supervisors who will be performing the required ECT visits for WAGPET registrars.
