How to Treat quiz: Corneal disorders

Relevance to General Practice

The presenting symptoms of pain, photophobia and reduced vision usually help to differentiate between conjunctival and corneal disorders.
A slit-lamp examination is required for any patient presenting with the latter, especially in cases where there has been a history of wearing contact lenses, previous keratitis or ocular trauma. This examination will rule out a serious eye injury.
