147390 - My Health Record in General Practice Module 4: Privacy, Security and Consent

  • : Online

This e-learning module explains healthcare providers' obligations for using My Health Record as they relate to maintaining the privacy and security of patients' information, and what processes they need to establish to meet those obligations.

Relevance to General Practice

My Health Record is Australia’s national digital health record system. It provides access to a secure online summary of your patient’s key health information. By the end of 2018, every Australian will get a My Health Record unless they choose not to have one. An April 2018 poll by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) indicated over 80 per cent of GP respondents do not feel adequately prepared for the commencement of the My Health Record expansion and want support to manage the transition.
