147503 - GLP-1RA Clinical Brief Series

  • : Online

Optimal management of type 2 diabetes is key in order to minimise the risk of complications, however, there is no ‘one size fits all approach’ and management will vary between individuals. In this Category 2 Clinical Brief series, we explore the current recommendations for a tailored approach to setting individual glycaemic targets.

Relevance to General Practice

Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a national health priority in Australia. The prevalence of T2D is increasing with rising overweight and obesity rates, lifestyle and dietary changes and an ageing population. According to self-reported data from the ABS 2014-15 National Health Survey, an estimated 5% of Australian adults (1 million people) have T2D.
