Hot Topics GP Update is a series of lectures delivered by GPs for GPs on the latest medical research in General Practice. This measles audit activity can be completed by GPs that have attended the face-to-face event or watched the online videos.

Relevance to General Practice

The aim of the GP update course is to provide GPs with an overview of the latest evidence in clinical practice for General Practice and to assist them to deliver better patient care. The course content includes a summary of the evidence published in peer-reviewed journals, national guidelines and other reputable sources in the previous 12 months. This audit activity is design for GPs to apply the new knowledge gained through the education sessions by conducting a series of patient audits on particular patient groups.

Learning outcomes
  • Explain the indication and duration of antiplatelet agents
  • Implement documentation of appropriate review/stop date or indication to continue
  • Recognise presentations that should trigger review or further clarification
  • Assess patient understanding and adherence to their DAPT plan
