160978 - 2019 Core Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Workshop

  • : Online

This two day workshop will provide GPs with opportunities to enhance their knowledge and skills in the area of performing and interpreting ultrasound images to better inform diagnosis and referral pathways for the patients.

Relevance to General Practice

GPs in rural areas are more likely to use ultrasound than their urban colleagues in general practice, due to the difficulty of their patients’ accessing investigative tools. Ultrasound in clinical management can potentially have both monetary and beneficial patient outcome results whilst limiting long-distance transfers or retrievals to tertiary centres. This ultrasound course is directed to the local rural and regional general practitioners and provides an introduction to basic ultrasound techniques which can then be used as a springboard for future learning. Whilst the course provides an introduction to ultrasound, it can also be used as a networking and knowledge sharing opportunity.

Please see attached Needs Assessment for more information.
