The theme of the 2019 Australian Society for Psycho-Social Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ASPOG) conference is ‘Across the Life Cycle’ focusing on diverse psychosocial aspects of women’s reproductive and sexual health. This will include clinical updates and cutting edge research across a range of disciplines. The conference aims to increase sharing of clinical and practical knowledge relevant to improving the psychological health and well-being of women and their families.

Relevance to General Practice

The Australian Society for Psycho-Social Obstetrics and Gynaecology Congress is held annually to foster and promote increased awareness of psychological, socio-cultural and ethical issues relevant to obstetrics, gynaecology and reproductive medicine. 
As sexual wellbeing is an important aspect of good general health, general practitioners (GPs) have a key role to play in initiating discussions about sex and sexual difficulties with their patients .
