162645 - Updates in Neurosurgery & Neurology
There has been a lot of progress made in diagnosing and managing spinal conditions, with new surgical techniques providing better surgery with improved wound pain and faster recovery times, however identifying these conditions is important as there are more to be seen in General Practice than most GP's are aware of. Cerebrovascular conditions are more rare for GP's and updates are always valuable, especially in view of the improved diagnostic techniques for incidental findings and acute conditions which can also now be treated with minimally invasive techniques, about which GP's may have less knowledge of.
Tremors and abnormal movement disorders are also something that can be hard to tackle, as GP don't get to see or address these very much. Therefore It is imperative that GPs have the knowledge and tools to be able to assess and choose treatment of tremors based on clinical features.
