The aim of the education activity is to increase GP's knowledge of appropriate medical imaging referrals specifically relating to breast conditions by presenting relevant case studies, discussing management and non-invasive options.Relevance to General Practice
Breast Cancer is the most common cancer affecting women in Australia.
In 2017, it was estimated that 17,586 Australian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. One in eight Australian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer before the age of 85.
In order to successfully manage these conditions GPs require information on updates in patient management and imaging options.
