163429 - 15th Annual Women's Health Day

  • : Online

Join us for our 15th Annual Women’s Health Day for GPs and Practice Nurses. This year’s event will be a full day session covering a range of women’s health topics.

Relevance to General Practice

As 56.7% of Australian general practice consultations are with women, the gender-specific primary health needs of women constitute a significant proportion of the general practice workload.

The area of women’s health is broad and across the lifespan requires general practitioners (GPs) to develop and maintain skills in the areas of sexual and reproductive health, pregnancy care and mental health.

This event will include presentations on:

-Trans Health,
-Eating Disorders,
-Advance Health Directives in pregnancy,
-What's new in Ovarian Cancer,
-Sexual Health Update and
-Breast Density

Learning outcomes
  • Understand what breast density is and how it influences breast cancer risk and mammographic sensitivity
  • Understand common issues faced by trans people
  • Described the benefits of advance care planning in general practice
  • Discuss the benefits and risks of different treatment options for perimenopausal symptoms
  • Increase confidence in discussing lack of ovarian cancer screening options with patients
