  • : Online
Relevance to General Practice

General practitioners in the Northern Beaches region can help to reduce a patient’s risk of developing gastric disease through early diagnosis. They need education to understand the clinical picture which includes from bedside to blood tests and investigations and screening and learn management options. They need to be able to recognize, evaluate and assess disease severity and appropriately manage co-morbidities and complications and know when to refer.Specifically the 30 Manly Warringah GPs identified the following learning outcomes for this meeting

Learning outcomes
  • Identify best management for an IBD flare-up
  • Optimise outcomes in immunomodulated patients
  • Discuss new options in therapy for Crohn’s and colitis
  • Identify indications for screening (normal and high risk populations)
  • Review the diagnosis and management of NAFLD and NASH
