This interactive workshop will support practices in their management of quality improvement activities ahead of the release of the Quality Improvement Practice Incentive Payment (QI PIP). 

This session is designed to support all staff to run gold standard quality improvement activities and develop change management skills including how to effectively manage resistance. while providing an overview of the QI PIP, information on data cleansing, access to resources and toolkits to support QI to improve business performance and best practice care through the better use of clinical and business systems; embed a culture of quality improvement that is transferable to other aspect of the business and patient care.

Relevance to General Practice

With the introduction of the Practice Incentive Payment Quality Improvement Initiative by the Department of Health, which rewards general practices who participate in quality improvement (QI) activities and the RACGP Standards for general practice staff to participate in quality improvement activities, a need has been identified within the Hunter New England and Central Coast PHN regions for GPs and other practice staff to participate in QI training.

  • Discuss the principles of measuring for improvement and how data are used in quality improvement initiatives
  • Discuss how QI tools can be utilised to assist with quality improvement activity planning and implementation
