167157 - Acne management: the role of active skincare

  • : Online

Delivered by a dermatologist, this acne module provides comprehensive information on the role of active skincare in acne management

Relevance to General Practice

In 2017 acne was reported to affect more than 90% of Australian adolescents aged 16–18 years.

Recent findings suggest there are complexities and variations associated with GPs’ approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of acne, as well as referral decisions. Some of these differences are due to the respective GPs' experiences and confidence, beliefs about efficacy of treatments and patient compliance, and GPs’ perceptions of patient-level barriers.

These findings also highlight avenues for improving acne management in general practice.
