People with mood disorders often feel sad all the time, lose interest in important parts of life, and fluctuate between extreme happiness and extreme sadness.
Learn the fundamental concepts and issues surrounding mood disorders in this interactive online course.
This course will firstly discuss the problem of mood disorders, and issues relating to nosology, epidemiology and genetics. GPs will learn the symptoms of depression, dysthymia and bipolar disorder and examine the long-term outcome of mood disorders and suicide. GPs will also learn about the relationship between mood disorders and gender, cognitive impairment, circadian rhythms, exercise, immunology and oxidative stress, and stress and trauma.
