Build certainty in your approach to managing the bone health of your patients, from infants through to the elderly. This online module will provide treatment guidelines, expert video commentary and case studies to update you on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders such as rickets, osteomalacia and osteoporosis.

This online module will enable GPs to optimise prenatal, antenatal, paediatric and adult musculoskeletal health over the life course. This module clarifies who is ‘high-risk’ for vitamin D deficiency and associated musculoskeletal disease with a step-wise screening and treatment algorithm.

  • Apply strategies for pregnant women to maximise their musculoskeletal health and the health of their unborn child.
  • Diagnose common paediatric skeletal disorders and know when to refer.
  • Assess patients at risk of osteoporosis and arthritic conditions, and counsel them about non-pharmacological and pharmacological management strategies.
  • Explain the role of exercise and nutrition when optimising health with ageing.
  • List the patient populations at risk of calcium and vitamin D deficiency, test accordingly and recommend strategies to rectify deficiencies to ensure safety.
