The Workshop aims to equip GPs with knowledge and skills to identify and manage issues of patient safety and improve the quality of care confidently.

Relevance to General Practice

All GPs, regardless of level of experience or area of practice, need to be aware of their role in good clinical governance and contribute to ongoing quality care and patient safety. Completion of the course will assist GPs to enhance their patient care through the development of interventions to address identified patient safety and quality issues.

Learning outcomes
  • Discuss current clinical governance frameworks at the organisational and unit level.
  • Apply the principle of clinical governance as a Unit Manager/Department Manager.
  • Use clinical governance frameworks (e.g. systems and tools).
  • Develop strategies and action plans to strengthen current clinical governance for your unit .
