At present, the management of established pre-eclampsia centres around blood pressure management until delivery is a safe option. This is mainly due to the current lack of a therapeutic options that reverses the pathophysiology of pre-eclampsia. Therefore, over recent years, strong emphasis has been placed on the utility of prophylactic interventions that have been shown to be beneficial in preventing pre-eclampsia in high-risk women.
