This two-in-one eTalk will outline survivorship issues for both gynae-oncology patients and people diagnosed with early stage breast cancer. Issues include but are not limited to sexual/bladder/bowel function, fertility, menopausal symptoms, long term implications of immunotherapies, cardiotoxicities, fertility, lymphoedema, relationships, surveillance and quality of life..Presenter
Anne Mellon is the Clinical Nurse Consultant in Gynaecological Oncology at the Hunter New England Centre for Gynaecological Cancer in Newcastle, a position she has held for the past 24 years. Anne is passionate about the care of women with Gynaecological Cancer but has a particular interest in vulval cancer and lymphoedema.
She is a member of the Cancer Australia Gynaecological Cancer Advisory Group (GCAG), providing high level expert advice to inform its work in promoting best practice gynaecological cancer care and improving gynaecological cancer outcomes.
Anne has had a long involvement with CNSA, holding positions of office on the National Executive Committee, Hunter Regional Group and the Gynaeoncology Specialist Practice Network, of which she is the current Chair. Anne is also a faculty member of the International Gynaecological Cancer Society, convening and chairing the Nursing Symposium at the annual International meeting.
Catrina Ross is a McGrath Breast Care Nurse Clinical Nurse Consultant in the Northern Sydney Local Health District, a position she has held for the past 10 years. Completed her Master of Nursing Cancer and Palliative Care at La Trobe University 2018.
She has presented at the International Cancer Nurses Conference in Prague on mental health and access to breast cancer treatment. Catrina is an active participant on working parties within the Cancer Institue developing information for publication on Eviq. Catrina has particular interest in cosmesis following breast reconstruction and radiation therapies.
Jenny Whiteside is a McGrath Breast Care Clinical Nurse Consultant working partime within the Northern Sydney Local Health District. Jenny is relatively new to the McGrath team, having a background of being a Clinical Nurse Educator in acute surgical nursing for over 10 years.
She has completed a Masters in Clincial Nursing and Teaching at the University of Tasmania in 2018 and specialises in care coordination and the physical and psychosocial support of men and women with Early Breast cancer.Comments
