The goal of the course is to provide a systematic review of the fundamental principles in emergency X-Ray interpretation. Interactive multimedia small live group sessions are taken between lectures. The goal of the course is to provide practitioners with the knowledge and confidence to review radiographic techniques and recognise radiographic patterns of trauma and injury commonly encountered for each body area. All lectures are presented by radiologists, specialists in the field of medical imaging.

Relevance to General Practice

Medical imaging is becoming increasingly utilised throughout all areas of medicine including general practice and imaging technology is becoming more and more complex. Keeping up to date with these advances can be difficult for doctors in a busy practice. Increasingly, GP’s are expected to make management decisions based on these medical imaging findings. Knowledge of fundamental image interpretation principles can assist to guide this process. Improving understanding of radiation hygiene and appropriate imaging modality selection will result in improved patient care.
