An Ounce of Prevention: Early Intervention against Obesity-Related Comorbidity

Clinical obesity is on the rise globally and now affects two-thirds (63%) of Australian adults, and is a leading cause of preventable morbidity and mortality in Australia. 
Correspondingly, obesity-related comorbidity is also on the rise. Obesity is now the second-highest contributor to the burden of disease (after dietary risks), and was declared a National Health Priority Area in 2008.
