Introductory Musculoskeletal Ultrasound courses are designed as an introduction to sonographic anatomy and needle guidance techniques in musculoskeletal applications. 

This course has over 10 hours of practical scanning on live patient models.

• Upper limb joints and tendons 
• Advanced upper and lower limb 
• Ultrasound guided injections

Physicians with musculoskeletal ultrasound skills will help facilitate informed clinical decisions, particularly in rural and remote areas where imaging is not readily available. 

General practitioners are uniquely placed to maximise the benefits of musculoskeletal ultrasound across a range of procedures in clinical practice, such as joint and bursal injections. 

Learning outcomes
  • Modify ultrasound system controls to attain basic practical proficiency in image optimisation.
  • Describe the sonographic characteristics of muscle, tendon, ligament, bursa and bone.
  • Demonstrate practical proficiency in identifying key anatomical landmarks for Achilles,plantar fascia,patella,quadriceps,common extensor&supraspinatous tendons.
  • Describe basic joint and bursal injection techniques and demonstrate needling skills through experience gained on ultrasound phantoms.
