Provide cardio-pulmonary resuscitation

Relevance to General Practice

GP's have a duty to respond to sudden cardiac arrest - they are expected to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) procedures in accordance with current Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines and techniques, without assistance of specialist emergency services or equipment.
Consistent with RACGP's Standards for general practice (4th edition), it is a requirement of the QI & CPD program that GP's maintain basic life support skills through the completion of a CPR course that meets the ARC guidelines once per triennium.

Learning outcomes
