BORDERLINE personality disorder (BPD) is a severe, complex and highly stigmatised psychiatric illness. It is a great mimicker of many other psychiatric illnesses. The public health impact and cost of BPD is significant. People with BPD have high use of EDs, crisis and primary care services. In addition there are substantial costs associated with resultant detrimental impact on employment, life in the community, and family interactions.
- On completion of this activity, the participant will be able to discuss the symptoms required to make a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder.
