93142 - check, unit 538, Dermatology, May 2017

  • : Online

This edition of check considers the diagnosis and management of various dermatological conditions in general practice.

Relevance to General Practice

In Australian general practice, 15.3 out of every 100 patient encounters, and 14.5% of total reasons for encounters, are for skin conditions. General practitioners (GPs) therefore have an important role in the diagnoses, management and treatment of skin conditions and, in some circumstances, appropriately refer the patient to a specialist.

Learning outcomes

  • Discuss the use of topical corticosteroids for the treatment of atopic dermatitis
