94391 - Shoulder Pain & Injury Management

This activity is presented conveniently with 3 hours of online learning and 3 hours of workshop time. 
The goal of this activity is to provide GPs with the knowledge and skills required to effectively manage their patients that present with shoulder pain and injury. 
The goal will be achieved through a series of examination skills, awareness and knowledge of resources and tests available to support the GP when managing patients with shoulder pain.

Relevance to General Practice

The GP will also be updated on the latest medications and injection techniques used in shoulder pain management as well as a practical management plan module for the systematic management of patients with shoulder pain.

Learning outcomes
  • Perform thorough and appropriate history taking to recognise and diagnose shoulder conditions
  • Learn and apply relevant examination techniques to recognise and diagnose shoulder conditions
  • Systematically determine appropriate imaging requirements to ensure correct diagnosis and treatment*
  • Select appropriate management techniques - medications, referral, ongoing management
  • Demonstrate an understanding of injection indications and techniques
