This session addresses the management of pain in older patients. Pain assessment can be challenging in the elderly. Increasing age affects the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of our therapeutic options, and an increasing burden of comorbidities can also complicate matters. We will explore these issues and discuss techniques to appropriately assess and manage pain in elderly patients.
