• State how to correct common electrolyte abnormalities

This session will provide you with the information you need in order to safely administer fluids to children and so reduce the risk of unnecessary deaths such as these. You will learn about the most common electrolyte abnormalities to be seen during the perioperative period:

• Hyponatraemia
• Hypernatraemia
• Hypokalaemia
• Hyperkalaemia
• Hypocalcaemia
