Learning Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • List the factors that affect the colour of teeth
  • Identify some causes of tooth discolouration
  • Recognise how bleaching techniques are classified

The use of various bleaching techniques has attracted a lot of interest from both the public and the dental profession. The public’s need for instant cosmetic improvement, coupled with the profession’s desire for a simple quick procedure, has meant bleaching is probably the most common cosmetic dental option available today.
