Cervical Screening Upskilling Workshop for International Medical Graduates

Who would benefit from this course
International Medical Graduates who require information and upskilling in cervical screening.
This three-hour course is designed for International Medical Graduates who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in cervical screening. The course comprises a lecture on cervical screening and demonstration of a Pap test examination on a gynaecological model. Individual sessions will also be conducted, enabling each participant to take part in a Pap test consultation with a practice patient, including a speculum examination.
Entry requirements / eligibility
Medical Practitioners with current medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Adequate Professional Indemnity Insurance is the sole responsibility of the participant.
*Note: Medical Practitioners preparing to gain registration will not be accepted
- To increase participant confidence and skill in taking a Pap test
- To provide information on technology around cervical screening, the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) guidelines for screen-detected abnormalities, the human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccination, and how to improve screening rates
