The Clinical Essentials Program – 3 Programs in 1 is a comprehensive online education package offered by Nurse CPD Online. It is specifically designed for Registered Nurses and Medication-Endorsed Enrolled Nurses who require annual refresher training and continuing professional development (CPD). This program combines three of the most popular nurse education modules into a single enrolment, saving participants both time and money while ensuring they meet their CPD requirements.

The program includes:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – Based on current Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, this module refreshes knowledge of resuscitation methods, including infant and child resuscitation, patients with stomas, and the use of semi-automatic external defibrillators (SAED). It is intended as an adjunct to workplace BLS competency assessments, not a replacement for practical testing.

  • Infection Control in Healthcare Environments – Focused on the critical importance of hand hygiene and infection prevention strategies, this module reinforces best practices to minimize the spread of infection in clinical settings.

  • Medication Administration 1 – Acute Care – Using everyday clinical scenarios, this module addresses safe and unsafe practices in medication administration. It includes a section on drug and IV calculations, helping nurses refresh their skills in dosage accuracy and patient safety.

  • Each module awards 2 CPD hours and a printable certificate upon completion, for a total of 6 CPD hours across the program. The course is interactive, engaging, and designed to be completed online at the learner’s own pace, making it ideal for busy professionals.

This program is not suitable for non-medication-endorsed Enrolled Nurses, Disability Care Workers, PCAs, or Aged Care Attendants, who are advised to seek guidance from their employers regarding required competencies.

By enrolling in the Clinical Essentials Program, nurses gain access to high-quality, evidence-based training that strengthens their core competencies in life support, infection control, and medication safety. The program’s affordability (AUD $89) and convenience make it an excellent option for annual refresher training, ensuring nurses remain confident, competent, and compliant with professional standards.
