Dermatologic Care in LGBTQIA+ Populations
The Women’s Dermatologic Society (WDS) will host an important educational webinar titled Dermatologic Care in LGBTQIA+ Populations on February 9, 2026, from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM EST. This event is part of WDS’s ongoing commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in dermatology. The session will be led by Dr. Markus Boos, MD, PhD, a respected dermatologist and advocate for inclusive healthcare.
The webinar will explore the unique dermatologic needs and challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ patients. Topics will include health disparities, access to care, dermatologic conditions influenced by gender identity and sexual orientation, and culturally competent communication strategies. Attendees will gain practical insights into how dermatologists can provide more inclusive, patient-centered care in diverse clinical settings.
Hosted by the WDS DEI Committee, the program emphasizes evidence-based approaches and real-world applications. Participants will learn how to identify gaps in dermatologic care, address systemic inequities, and implement strategies that improve outcomes for LGBTQIA+ populations. The session also highlights the importance of advocacy and education in reducing stigma and fostering trust between patients and providers.
Registration is free and open to all interested clinicians, trainees, and healthcare professionals. The event will be conducted via Zoom, ensuring accessibility for a wide audience across different regions. By attending, participants will not only expand their clinical knowledge but also contribute to a broader movement toward equity in dermatology.
Ultimately, this webinar is more than an educational session—it is a call to action for dermatologists and healthcare providers to embrace inclusivity, challenge disparities, and champion compassionate care for LGBTQIA+ communities.
