Overview

A large amount of low back pain research is continually being published making it very difficult for clinicians to stay up to date with the latest evidence. This eTalk presents a range of recent low back pain research including studies of prognosis, diagnosis and treatment. The focus of this talk is on discussing how these findings can be used in daily practice to improve management of people with low back pain.

Presenter

Mark Hancock is an Associate Professor of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Medicine and Health Science, Macquarie University. He has over 20 years of clinical experience as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist. His research focuses on the diagnosis and management of low back pain. He has published over 130 peer reviewed papers and received over $4.5 million dollars in funding to support his research. He has published in leading medical journals including New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet and British Medical Journal. Mark is a Journal of Physiotherapy board member and Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy International editorial board review member.
