Overview

This lecture will provide an overview of how to utilize the available evidence of the important role exercise has in improving cancer outcomes in order to transform physiotherapy practice in this field. Dragana will discuss some of the research she has been involved with in cancer and share the new directions her clinical work is taking and emerging cancer rehabilitation programs she is helping to design.

Presenter

Dragana Ceprnja has worked at Westmead Hospital in the Physiotherapy Department since 1999. She is an experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist with an interest in pregnancy, cancer and low back pain. Dragana has led and participated in a number of research projects at Westmead Hospital, including improving rehabilitation outcomes in breast cancer, physical activity and exercise education in people with cancer, innovative methods for treating chronic low back pain, evaluating management of pregnancy related pelvic girdle pain and investigating health literacy in people who utilise allied health services.

She is currently enrolled in a PhD at Western Sydney University, with the focus of her studies being pregnancy related pelvic girdle pain. Dragana has published in peer reviewed journals in her areas of research.
