Flexible Insulin Therapy (FlexIT) Online Training

The FlexIT Online Training Program is a comprehensive, interactive course designed for Credentialled Diabetes Educators and Dietitians working with people with type 1 diabetes. Delivered by Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute, this program teaches principles of flexible insulin therapy through live Zoom sessions. The two-day core program covers insulin-to-carbohydrate ratios, insulin sensitivity factors, advanced carbohydrate counting, and management of hypo/hyperglycemia patterns. Participants engage in case study analysis using real-world blood glucose and food diaries. An optional third day offers training to become an accredited FlexIT group facilitator, including access to teaching resources and a license to deliver the program in clinical settings. The course is CPD-accredited, offering up to 14 points for ADEA credentialing.
