This module outlines ways to identify and control exacerbating factors and comorbidities that may affect HF, and explores the role of non-surgical devices and end-of-life care.

By completing this learning activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify and minimise factors that may increase risk of heart failure exacerbations.
  • Manage common comorbidities in patients with heart failure.
  • Refer patients for non-surgical device treatment where appropriate.
  • Coordinate end-of-life care for patients with high risk of mortality.
