Impacts of childhood trauma on development

Dr. Govind Krishnamoorthy PhD is a clinical psychologist and lecturer in the School of Psychology and Counselling at the University of Southern Queensland. Govind has worked for over a decade in both public and private sectors offering child and adolescent mental health services for families impacted by child maltreatment. As a co-developer of the Trauma Informed Positive Behaviour Support (TIPBS) program, Govind's research and clinical experience has focused on addressing the social emotional needs of children and adolescence impacted by abuse and neglect in the health care and educational contexts.

Julie Bradley began working in paediatrics at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow in 2000. Julie has had a variety of caseloads in acute settings in Scotland, New Zealand and Australia including Rheumatology, Cystic Fibrosis, OP MSK (with persistent pain clients as part of this), Clubfoot, Haemophilia, Neurosciences and Special Care Baby Units. Julie has also worked for Child Development Services in Whakatane in New Zealand, Hervey Bay and metro Brisbane. Current day, Julie works for Children's Health Queensland within the Queensland Children's Hospital Child Development Service and the Community Allied Health Service. While she doesn't claim to be an expert in the topic, Julie is presenting this lecture to share her experiences over the course of her extensive paediatric career, working with children who have experienced trauma.
