Nurses working in general practice, nurse practitioners, midwives, women’s health workers and health professionals.
Keeping up with contraception, provides clinicians with evidence-based information on contraceptive options. This course focuses heavily on Long Acting Reversible Contraceptives (LARC) and their use in the Australian context.
Entry requirements / eligibility
Must be a nurse, midwife or health professional
At the end of this course, participants should be able to:
- identify the importance of LARC in pregnancy prevention
- identify and analyse factors involved with various contraceptive methods
- demonstrate their ability to discuss with a woman her eligibility for an intra-uterine device (IUD) or implant based on her lifestyle, reproductive plans and personal health factors
